Hi Vidyut and all ISABIANs in Mumbai,

I suggest we appoint a co-ordinator for this task and let that person drive the same. I am not volunteering for this now, as my plate is full and I will not do justice to the task. However, I am ready to do translations and would like to know, what work is yet to be done. No point in duplicating something that is already translated!

Artee Agarwal (don’t know if you know her) has volunteered to coordinate the translations. Any and all of you who wish to help may get in touch with her.

      Hi Vidyut,
I had volunteered to assist in the translations during the Winter Events at Agra recently but forgot to give you my contact details.

You can mail me the chapters/articles that you want translated. I will see what I can do.

      Thanks,

      Best,

      Saleena

    announcement, community, initiative, plans

    Hi,

I know its a lot of posts in one day after a long drought. What do I say, once I get started, I keep remembering things I need to share.

I just realized that not many people know about the Mumbai Chapter’s initiative to translate the reading material provided in the BLHP and ALHP into Hindi. Many people who attend our events are not able to utilize the material provided in English effectively. We are trying to bridge that gap.

At the moment, there are a couple of people working on translations, but its very scattered, and not easy to structure. We are looking for volunteers who have good Hindi and translation skills to help us with this, so that we can make it available at the soonest - ideally, on this Umang Event itself, but failing that, in our regular monsoon event taking place a month or so later.

Really, we need big time help on this. Please comment on this post using your correct email ID, so that I can get in touch with you if you are able and willing to volunteer.

I realize that there are some people who have done a little work here and there - if you guys could step up and share what you have done, perhaps we can collaborate and get this show running faster - we will be able to ensure that effort is not wasted with people working on the same articles and ensure that all articles are covered, etc. Basically, the idea is this, that even if one person translates an article or so each, with enough volunteers, its going to mean two entire books getting translated mighty quickly.

Pleeeeeease! It will be fantastic if the Mumbai Chapter can develop this to contribute to the growth of ISABS.
