It was my first experience of being part of the faculty. Of taking on responsibilities, interacting with facilitators more than participants and of keeping silent when a lab was in progress. It has impacted me so deeply, that I’m still wading through and absorbing new stuff as I think of it.

I am discovering layers and nuances of my experiences, new perspectives on situations I was in.

I realized that I was doing more things than I usually do on an event. Between the labs, discussions with facilitators, participating on communities and taking opportunities to address concerns that were the loudest in my mind, I didn’t take the time to do anything else.

Vikram, the way you include everyone and accept what people have to share and be with them touched me. My first experience of this event as an observer began with you “welcoming me to the other side” and flowed into a time that I enjoyed thoroughly and learned from and changed me. It never ceases to amaze me how you can have so many responsibilities and be so easily open to everyone else. A hug for you.

Gauri, being your room mate was like being at home. Your caring, support, openness…… and the bed tea and how getting ready every day became an exciting adventure in clothes decisions :D I enjoyed spending the morning on the stairs listening to songs and watching all those jogging conscious people sweat it out. (Sankar, Shridhar, Rahul…. you guys listening?)

Ryan I appreciate you playing music for the community and the talk we had afterwards. You surprised me with the honesty with which you speak. I enjoyed every minute we were together.

Gautam, I enjoyed the interaction we had when we drove home together after the event. It was one of the most comfortable and enjoyable “withdrawals” I had from ISABS and it meant a lot to me that we were together.

Sushma, I missed you in the final community session.

Rahul, I enjoyed your energy and assertiveness and the way you go for what you want and are so into it.

    Sanjay :)

Vignesh, I appreciate the way with which you brought us in your car to the event. It made me feel really special the way you indulged in our wishes, shared your warehouse development and catered to our whims from music and concern for comfort, conversation, vada paav and your relationship with the people in that place to things like driving the car up so that we could take luggage out nearer to our rooms. I felt on top of the world and totally cherished by the time I got into my room.
